    Plaquenil help arthritis

I know I had never heard of it until my rheumatologist said that is what I have...along w/osteoarthritis and fibromyalgia. My blood tests are negative for RF but my CRP test was above normal. Ai Yi Yi Plaquenil reduces inflammation in many Rheumatic disorders, the mode of action is pretty complicated though so I shan't bore you with all the details, but basically it prevents your dendritic cells (these are messengers for your immune system, if you will) from interacting with your T-Cells (a special type of white blood cell which through a convoluted and boring process, causes inflammation when an infection is found, and these basically malfunction with inflammatory disorders). So, he started me on 400 mg of Plaquenil a day and he just upped it to 600 mg a day. As I said previously, my Rheumatologist now says it is inflammatory osteoarthrits. Why am I taking Plaquenil, which does help tremedously BTW, if I don't have RA or Lupus. This "dendritic deactivation" (I made that phrase up) helps reduce your immune system being silly and inflaming your joints.

  4. Had done Artemisinin in the past but LLMD says Artemisia is better. Do not have to start the other med at the same time -- but probably should add in something else within a month or so. I am writing a longer thread on using herbs for babs. Bea Seibert Is this the powdered herbal extract, or the powdered herb? To take the isolated constituent, by itself, is a bit like taking a chemical substance, except that it happens to come from a natural source and is *less likely to be* toxic. What is the correct way to discontinue use of plaquenil? Plaquenil is a 6-weeker as far as the benefits are concerned, but it would be more dangerous to stop if you spend a lot of time outside and if this were the summer. If you're gonna experiment, I went off it cold turkey as it didn't hurt to do it that way, but you better get back on before the summer or you could experience a flare-up.
